• Cut off streaming platforms like Netflix and Crave TV. Their content is filled with licesning from the major music labels. They also make independent content and in our opinion, would definitely use copyright in the courts or as personal attacks on creators.
• Do not buy from iTunes and Apple TV. Shows and movies on their platforms also license music from major labels. Even old shows are being sold by the original creators, and like the streaming platforms we believe they would or do bully creators via copyright law.
• Don't purchase new video games from Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Microsoft, or any other major publisher. We believe families can easily get on board by simply resetting the system. Kids would be happy playing old Mario and Donkey Kong games with their parents on a Retron. As the children get older we also believe they would have plenty of fun playing a refurbished PS3, WI, or Xbox 360. Those graphics aren't even considered bad. And the deals are better on auction. These major companies and publishers have and do bully creators with copyright.
• Movie purchases should lag behind by at least 10 years. There is a vast wealth of movies from 2016 and under. Support a family or business through auction or pawn shops by purchasing small collections for the year.
• Do not go to movie theaters and stadium shows. If we can collectively empty these it will be a big win for our movement. Consider making a home theater and watching movies with friends. Projectors can be bought in every price bracket. Friends could collectively invest in the movie lots together, watch them together, share them, trade them, and even sell them later to get new stacks. Take on other forms of entertainment like board games, video games, and hanging out with friends. YouTube and free streaming is another great way to fill entertainment needs.
• discontinue support of independent artists that go against your rights. I've heard beat makers suggest shutting down YouTube channels and filing official complaints when they themselves have been "stealing." Maybe they should be put on hold until these constitutional issues are sorted. We don't have to promote or buy from every author out there.
• Tell people you have joined Boycott The Industry Movement. Tell them you are cutting off mainstream profits and why. It's very important that the world be on board with this, but also that others know why we are doing it. Tell the companies why you are silencing their funds. Write some correspondence with them. Try to convince these major publishers of games and movies that it would be more profitable to fight for us. If everyone had to share, and everyone had free creative rights, there is much fun to be had and much profit to be made. Those that can afford to create whatever they want would be free to do so, and advance their economy.
• Join our forum and become a donor and fundraiser. Bring others to us. Start your own communities and organizations if you believe in the reform. Do honest field work and bring more members to our cause.
• Join the mailing list. This is not an ezine. It's only for a petition announcement, major updates, and to call our members if the website is down and restored.
